OCA Obras, Caminos y Asfaltos works on the execution of one of the main road links in the south of Galicia: the Melide South – Arzúa West section of the A-54. The works extend from the link Lavacolla-Arzúa Oeste to the south of Melide, from where the A-54 continues its route towards Lugo.

The road link will boost traffic between Melide and Arzúa as part of the Santiago-Lugo highway project. It has been designed according to the latest mobility and sustainability requirements. The works include more than 10,000 m2 of acoustic screens to eliminate noise derived from the vehicles, 11 overpasses and 7 underpasses. Among the underpasses there are 2 specifically intended for wildlife steps. The construction of this road will involve the movement of more than 5 million m3 of land. 8 viaducts will be built to save water levels and river flows. The works of the A-54 road link between Melide and Arzúa were awarded to the construction companies Copisa and Sando. OCA executes the works after signing an agreement with both companies.
