The construction and engeneering company OCA Obras, Caminos y Asfaltos, and the British multinational company , Segro, consolidate their strategic relationship with the stablishment of Segro’s first logistics park in Los Gavilanes (Getafe, Madrid). OCA has already signed an agreement to build the second distribution platform in the same business area. OCA Obras, Caminos y Asfaltos vice president, Roberto Rodríguez Ogando, has given the keys to the instalation to Segro´s CEO, David Sleath.
Builded by OCA, the logistics park of 48.000 square meters, is designed for logistic operations and e-commerce, following the high standards of the international companies in the sector.
It is the first building in Los Gavilanes business park that reaches the international certificate Breeam, which evaluates its design, construction and use. The certificate guarantees the sustainability and energetic eficiency of the logistics park. The Breeam seal is an international method developed by the British organization BLE Global , that rewards the measures that contribute to a better wellness of the occupants and the protection of the environment.
The Segro logistic park is the main investment of the British company in Spain that owns a variety of actives of more than 7 millions square meters in Europe.
The British multinational is listed in the FTSE 100 and is the European leader in industrial property. The company is worth more than 11.000 pounds.
“Segro Getafe logistics park” has been designed to cover the operative needs of our customers with an optimal and versatile structure, for both, the traditional storage as well as the management, storage and distribution of last generation stocks”, declares David Alcázar, CEO of Segro Spain.
The building has fire resistant structural elements, wide zones for the truck manouver, more than 500 parking places, photovoltaic plates to generate electric energy, specific deposits for the recuperation and use of rainwater or LED ilumination systems and the most modern technology to answer the sector necessities.
A referential park for the great distribution
Builded in 2015 by OCA with an investment of 100 millions of euros, Los Gavilanes is still attracting big international companies. The first companies installed there have been Decathlon and Costco, and later, ID Logistics, Mercadona or Amazon, among others.
Los Gavilanes has a total surface of more than 2 million meters and is located in Getafe, 14 km away from Madrid, in an strategic spot for the e-commerce distribution sector because of the exceptional proximity to big roads of communication like the A-4 (exit 13 of the road of Andalucía) and the M-50 which encircles the city ,with the possibility to connect to the road network that links it with the rest of the peninsula.
OCA Obras, Caminos y Asfaltos has taken part, from its planification, in the developement of this logistic park, as well as in the one in Los Molinos, both located in Getafe. It was responsible for the construction of the main industrial instalations existent in both of the parks.
